Palo Alto, CA – October 27, 2009 — Protection and retention of electronic business records is essential in the event of corporate litigation.  While business-critical e-mails and e-mail attachments are often retained with e-mail archival systems, files too large to send as e-mail attachments typically bypass the archiving systems.  The Accellion Archival Satellite extends Accellion file transfer to enable archiving of Accellion file transfers to corporate e-mail Archival Systems to comply with business record retention policies.

The Accellion Archival Satellite continuously monitors Accellion file transfers to determine which file transfers meet the criteria for archiving.  All Accellion file transfers subject to corporate archival policy are captured and replicated to an Archival Satellite.  The Accellion Archival Satellite is responsible for delivering a copy of the original e-mail with file attachments to the Archival Mail Server.
